Burt Kempner - Senior Writer / Producer
Writer-Producer Burt Kempner has worked professionally in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Florida. His work has won numerous major awards, and has been seen by groups ranging in size from a national television audience in the United States to a half-dozen Maori chieftains in New Zealand. Among his broadcast credits are: for PBS: KidHealth, a 13-part series on children's medicine with Peggy Fleming, The Fall and Rise of Germany, a two-hour exploration of the German nation since the end of the Second World War, and Chincoteague, a celebration of the wild ponies and human inhabitants of this island off the coast of Virginia; for The Discovery Channel: The New Detectives, a series about crime-fighting advances in forensic science, and The Spirit of Punxsutawney: Groundhog Day, a documentary about the western Pennsylvania town made world famous by a weather-predicting rodent; for CNBC: numerous episodes of Today's Environment, a survey of ecological success stories hosted by actor Ed Begley, Jr.; for European television: Weimar: A Modern-Day Renaissance City, an historic look at the one-time home of Goethe and Schiller and its latter-day efforts to become a cultural center once more. In his 25+ years as a writer, reporter, director and producer, Kempner has worked for many government agencies and non-profit organizations. Among the former are the Smithsonian Institution, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Endowment for the Arts; in the latter category are the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Sierra Club, the Jane Goodall Institute and the American Institute of Architects. He served two terms on the Board of Directors of the Washington Independent Writers, the country's largest writers' group, and was twice elected vice-president of the organization. He co-founded DreamKeepers Media in 2002.


Steve Seckar - Editor / Videographer 

Steve Seckar is a native of Wisconsin. His national broadcast credits include The Genocide Factor and KidHealth, both for PBS. His work has also appeared on NBC, ESPN, The Nashville Network, The DIY Network and the Sunshine Network. He was founder and president of Sportswatch, a communications company with an athletic orientation, and a partner in ImageMotion, an innovative company specializing in film and video production and website design. Steve also has contributed many hours to shooting and editing non-profit videos, such as the recently completed Guardian ad Litem recruitment video, Resurrection House fundraising video and all of the video elements for a large fundraiser for Metropolitan Ministries. Steve's great 'eye' as a cameraman … and skill as an editor, allow us to be more independent in our productions and his willingness to really put himself into a project shows in our work.

Sarah Marius - Graphic Artist

Sarah Marius hails from Loganville, Georgia. She's always immersed herself in the arts and holds a BFA degree in digital video from the Atlanta College of Art. She also attended the Experimental Television Center in Owego, NY. An accomplished motion graphics designer, Sarah is also a fine editor and has facility in a wide variety of software systems. She's edited both short- and long-form commercials; created graphics for numerous documentaries, corporate and public awareness videos; written, produced and directed her own short films; and designed logos, DVD menus and DVD promotional materials. This versatile, wildly-talented artist is passionate about her craft in particular and the film and video profession in general. She brings freshness and dedication to every project she touches.



Damen Shaqiri - Editor / Videographer / Sound Engineer

Damen Shaqiri, an Ohio native, produced his first documentary film project while still a teenager. At the tender age of 23, Damen started his own video production company, Evolv Media, Inc., while studying for his degree in Film and Multimedia studies. Since then he has worked freelance for major news outlets -- NBC, CBS and CNN -- in addition to producing commercials, and industrial and informational videos for a wide range of clients.  Damen's producing and directing credits include: Battered, Bruised and Broken, an acclaimed documentary exploring how individuals and communities deal with family violence and Porous Borders, a hard-hitting look at the ongoing border disputes in Arizona and elsewhere.  Cinematography, editing, sound design credits include: Circus Rosaire, SuperCharge Me!, Secret Evidence, and New Music New College.
